Garth Shyngera is a mechanic during his day job, but his after hours job means he is making scaled down models of just about everything. One of his most stunning projects was the construction of a 1/32 scale model of an oil derrick or rig. The project took him about 500 hours to build and includes almost every feature that a full sized rig would have. Given the material and labor he’s put into the project at the time of our visit he figured it would sell for around $8000.
